Installation

CM Sensor kits should be set up and activated within ten days of receiving the equipment.

Cold Temperature Alerts

The CM Sensor kit’s water/temperature sensors are designed to alert your designated contact(s) to distinct conditions that could lead to frozen pipes:

  • The temperature outside is at or below 32°F AND the temperature in your property is 50°F. A text alert will be sent to your designated primary contact’s mobile phone. You do not need to respond to this alert.
  • The temperature outside is at or below 32°F AND your CM Sensor kit detects temperatures in your property at or below 40°F. A text alert will be sent to all emergency contacts listed in the CM Sensor app. Please respond to this text alert. If no one responds to this text message, the alert will be escalated and you will receive a phone call.
  • These notifications will be sent when freezing conditions occur at your property, including during evening hours. We recommend adjusting your property temperatures accordingly.

For the best user experience, we encourage you to download the CM Sensor App so you can actively monitor alerts and add emergency contacts.

If you choose not to download the app, alerts will still be sent to your phone via text or call, depending on the severity of the alert.

A church in Toulon, Illinois, enrolled in the sensor program because of past issues with water leaking into the church basement. A contact from the church received a CM Sensor alert informing him that the temperature was dropping, and the facility's pipes were in danger of freezing. The contact had time to go to the church and turn up the thermostat, avoiding costly damage. This is the second time the sensor alerts have notified the contact about potential water-related threats, saving the congregation from costly disruptions to their ministry.
A broken toilet handle could have caused more than $16,000 in damages and repairs at a Frankton, Indiana, church. Fortunately, the church was enrolled in the CM Sensor program, and the kit was installed and activated! As water continued to overflow from the malfunctioning toilet, the water sensor sent an automatic alert to the primary contact from the church. Without this real-time warning, the church could have had to postpone services and spend time and money cleaning up the mess.
